Where it all began
Twenty years. Two decades. It’s an incredible feat in the world of business. So, let’s take a walk down memory lane.
The Building Ethics Australia (BEA) journey began amid the chaos caused by the collapse of the HIH insurance. Our founders—including Ken Lucas and Tim O’Callaghan—were builders at the time and left without the mandatory warranty insurance required to continue their trade.
It was a disaster, but it brought us together. We were ready to tackle the issue head-on by reimagining the builders’ warranty scheme. It took off, and international underwriters like Munich & American Risk Partners supported our innovative approach. We focused on rigorous risk management and financial scrutiny to protect both our clients and consumers.
Six years after our inception, we established a licensed brokerage, BEA Insurance Brokers (BEAIB). This expansion enabled us to reach people all across Australia.
Where we are today
Fast forward to the present day, and Tim O’Callaghan continues to lead BEA and BEAIB. We leverage our deep industry experience to unravel the intricacies you face daily and provide a practical, personalised solution.
